First distilled in 1888, Bundaberg Rum is as Australian as it gets. An underproof rum made from 100% sugar cane then matured to perfection for a smooth and mellow flavour.
Palate – Fresh and dry timber notes and a prickling pepper heat that rounds off to dark caramel undertones.
Aroma – Demerara sugar and black pepper spice with light floral hint atop rich, heavy oak tones.
Tasting Notes – An intriguing combination of intense woody notes and caramel sweetness with hints of floral and spice.
Rum for the Hills: 1883 marks the construction of Spring Hill House — a grand old homestead owned by the Noakes family. The Noakes’ went on to become founding shareholders in the Bundaberg Distilling Co. The house still stands at the modern day location of the distillery.
What grows together goes together; try with spicy Bundaberg Ginger Beer.
